Merchants Stomp Springville in Five Innings *Photo Gallery*

The Helper American Legion Merchants bashed 13 hits in five innings as they took a commanding 14-1 win over Springville Wednesday night.

Triton Abeyta knocked in six runs, going 2-3 with a single and a triple. Braxton Bennett went 3-4 with three singles and three RBIs. Jayden Flemett added three more hits, doubling and singling twice, chipping in two additional RBIs. Jadon Robertson also went 2-2 in the game with two singles and two walks.

Zac Bradley was dominant on the mound, tossing three innings of one-hit baseball. Collin Lewis tossed the final two innings in the game, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four batters.

After a scoreless first inning, Helper broke the game open in the second, plating 10 runs on seven hits, two off the bats of Bennett and Abeyta alone. The Merchants added four more in the third to round out the scoring.

Helper, now 8-3 during the summer session, will host three games this weekend, beginning with a Friday night matchup against St. George at 7:30 p.m. Saturday games against Skyridge and Skyline will take place at 4 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
