The Helper Merchants scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to scoot past Dixie on Wednesday evening, 13-5. Helper was down 5-4 entering the final inning.
Three players had two hits apiece, led by Jayden Flemett with a double and a single to go along with three RBIs. Flemett’s triple in the seventh broke a 5-all tie, plating three runs. Taylon Abeyta had two singles, and Jadon Robertson had a double and a single with two RBIs. He also walked twice.
Zac Bradley got the no-decision on the mound, going 2 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs. Abeyta pitched the rest of the game for the win.
Helper had three extra-base hits in the seventh, leading to the comeback win.
Helper, now 5-2 on the season, will continue its southern Utah tour with a matchup against St. George on Thursday. The team will then play three games spanning Friday and Saturday, all in St. George.
