Over 120 participants competed in the Mike Ballard Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday at Carbon Country Club Golf Course. The four-man scramble is an 18-hole tournament, which raises funds for a local charity each year.

The recipient of this year’s fundraising effort is the Hope Squad of Carbon and Emery counties, an organization that promotes suicide awareness and prevention.

According to Carbon County Recreation Assistant Director Frank Ori, over $20,000 was raised through the tournament, dinner and concert that followed the golf event. A check will be presented to the Hope Squad in August once all donations are received and tallied.
