Press Release

Carbon County Employees are sponsoring the 7th annual Mike Ballard Memorial Fundraiser on June 18 at the Carbon County Club Golf Course and Carbon County Events Center.  This is a four man scramble golf tournament, followed by an awards banquet and music concert.  The fees for the event are $160 per team plus green and cart fees.  The fee includes entry into the tournament and four dinner and concert tickets. There is a limit of 32 teams.  If you would like to register a team, please call Carbon County Recreation at 636-3702. Teams are taken on a first come first serve basis.  Team registrations will be taken until the 32 team limit is full. Team captains this year are being asked to be prepared to pay when they call and register.

All proceeds from this event will be donated this year to the Ronald McDonald House. The money will be earmarked for use by Carbon and Emery County residents and their families.

The Ronald McDonald House in Utah opened their doors in 1988 and they haven’t closed them since.  Not for a day, not for and hour because families depend on them.  Over the years, more than 45 thousand families from all over the world have utilized the Ronald McDonald House seeking medical help for their children.  Many of those families are from our local area.  In 2015 159 families and 508 people from Carbon and Emery County utilized the Ronald McDonald House.

Help the Carbon County Employees reach their goal of 20 thousand dollars.  This event is not just for people who play golf.  The concert and banquet is open to anyone who wants to join us for a night of great food and entertainment.  Donations are also being accepted.  You can make a donation by calling Carbon County Recreation at 636-3702.  You can also stop by their office located at 751 East 100 North Suite 1500 inside the new Carbon County Administration Building.  If you would like more information, you can contact Rose Barnes at 636-3290.
