The Green River Gun Club hosted a 600-yard milk jug shooting contest on Saturday.

The contest began at 11 a.m. and welcomed shooters from the area. The event is made up of a five-man competition. Just $5 bought a participant three shots in the competition and $15 was awarded to the winner of each round. If there was a tie, the shooters were then required to shoot a gong to break the tie.

The money raised from the event will directly benefit the gun club.

Mark Keener oversaw the event and said that he hosts this event two or three times per year. “It is mostly to have fun during the off season and to give people something to shoot at,” he said.

The event ran until people stooped coming, which was about 2 p.m.
