As part of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce’s tradition at its annual installation banquet, two businesses were deemed the best in 2016. Miner’s Trading Post boasted the title in the small business category while AutoFarm Price Auto Group was named in the large business category.

An East Carbon staple, Miner’s Trading Post is a locally owned and operated grocery store that serves the areas of Sunnyside, East Carbon and Columbia. The store specializes in fresh produce, meat and bakery items with an emphasis in customer service.

Located at 123 Market St. in Sunnyside, Miner’s Trading Post is known for its generosity and community involvement. Each year, the store hosts a parking lot party, complete with food, music and fun, as a fundraiser for Bruin Point Elementary. In 2016, the annual fundraiser ended with a grand total of $4,200 being raised to benefit local students.

In the large business category, AutoFarm Price Auto Group claimed the honor presented by the chamber for its constant presence and current expansion within the community. The local dealership offers sales, service and parts for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ford vehicles.

While currently serving from a sole location in Price, AutoFarm Price Auto Group has construction underway for a second location in town, which will be located just off Highway 6 near Castleview Hospital. This new location will allow the company to focus solely on Ford products while the existing location will continue to offer Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge. AutoFarm Price Auto Group employs nearly 40 employees between sales, parts and service.

Also during the banquet, the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce took time to thank members of the media for their help in extending its mission. Entities honored were Castle Country Radio, KUSA, the Sun Advocate and ETV 10 News.
