Miniature Horses Welcomed in Carbon County

Community members gathered at the Carbon County Fairgrounds to watch a miniature horse show hosted by the Intermountain Miniature Horse Club.

The free event featured a variety of miniature horses performing demonstrations for the crowd and additional horses for sale.

Miniature horses measure under 34 inches in height, but otherwise resemble a full size horse. The American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) was founded in 1978 to honor these pint size horses.

For more information about miniature horses, write or call the  AMHA, 2908 S.E. Loop 820, For Worth, Texas 76140, (817) 289-0041.

The miniature horse show was a kickoff event to the upcoming Carbon County Fair. Festivities will be underway on Friday and Saturday and will include the Down N’ Dirty mud race, mud drags, free concerts and more.
