Miss Emery and Miss Emery Outstanding Teen Crowned at Scholarship Pageant *Photo Gallery*

Contestants gathered at Emery High Saturday evening to compete in the 2014 Miss Emery Scholarship Pageant and Miss Emery Outstanding Teen pageant. In total, 11 participants performed before an audience.

The pageant was emceed by Neal Peacock and 2013 Miss Emery County Jaicelyn Shakespaere. Little Miss Emery 2013 Jaylynn Lindley also assisted with the event. Former Emery County royalty from year’s past also performed, along with newly crowned Junior Miss Emery 2014 Brooklyn Johansen and Little Miss Emery 2014 Brynn Lindley.

During the competition, each contestant displayed a talent, answered an onstage question, modeled an evening gown and competed in a lifestyle and fitness/swimsuit contest.

At the end of the evening, Sydni Ekker was crowned 2014 Miss Emery. Ekker’s platform of positive body self image is a topic which she will promote throughout her reign. Madison Winn was named first attendant and Laryssa Guymon received second attendant honors.

Miss Emery Outstanding Teen honors went to Paytn Jeffs who will move on to compete in the state competition later this year.

Miss Emery Outstanding Teen: Justyne Jackson, Paytn Jeffs and Morgan Donaldson.
