On October 8, 2012 at 6:45p.m. Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk received a phone call regarding an overdue hunter. The caller stated that the hunter, Ken Moosman had not been heard from since Saturday.

Sheriff Funk as well as several members of the Emery County Search and Rescue responded to the Shoefly Canyon in Upper Joe’s Valley. Sheriff Funk also requested the help of the Department of Public Safety helicopter to fly over the area. Emery County & Sanpete County search and rescue covered the area on foot. The Emery County Search and rescue located the hunter’s horse with his gun attatched to the saddle. Unfortunately Mr. Moosman was found deceased not far from where his horse was located on October 9. Emery County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the incident. Stay tuned to etv10news.com for more information as it is released.
