Missing Wyoming-Bound Plane

Searchers in central Utah are looking for a missing plane from Gillette, Wyoming.

The plane disappeared from radar on Sunday shortly after making a refueling stop in Fillmore, Utah. It was enroute from Bakersfield, California back to Gillette with a pilot and two passengers on board.

According to Jeff Horrocks,Emery CountyВ CommissionerВ and member of the Civil Air Patrol, there have been four planes searching for the missing plane around Fillmore for the past two days. Crews have also been searching on foot. The pilot, Matthew Ahrens, 37, and passengers 34-year-old Trista Meyer and daughter 9-year-old Shyann Lenz, were last heard from after a text message was sent from Meyer to her sister telling them Sunday afternoon they were making a stop in Fillmore.Another text was sent to her sister when they were back in the air saying they should be back in Gillette in a few hours. Ahrens is reported to be a veteran Pilot and was flying a Piper ArcherВ similarВ to a Cessna 182.

The wing chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol in Utah, Stu Boyd, said no emergency locator signals from the plane have been detected. Visit etv10news.com for more information as it is released.
