Wellington Elementary students and their parents gathered Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for the Moms and Muffins activity. The activity took place before school both days and was available for all students who wanted to attend. Those in attendance enjoyed muffins for breakfast while parents read children a book of their choice.
On Thursday, it was Creekview Elementary moms and others who showed up to the Moms and Muffins activity at their school. Principal John Thomas said that even if there is not a lot of reading that takes place, this is an excellent way to get parents in the school to see what their kids are doing. He estimates at least 50-60 percent of parents show up to the early morning reading events.
