Mont Harmon Pirates had the opportunity to learn a new form of cooking on Tuesday as they moved out of kitchens with ovens and frying pans and into ones with briquettes and tongs as they practiced the art of Dutch oven cooking.
The students also had the opportunity to take part in a cooking competition with fellow students. Dishes included ribs, tacos, specialty cakes and other scrumptious creations.
Winners in the main dish category included Attalee Jones, Ashlin Baker, Kayla Barney and Vidriana Grimaldo. Students victorious in the dessert category were Sehlia Arvizo, Schydi Rassmussen, Meghan Bradley and Torie Hamock.
