The Lady Pirates hosted Monticello for a matchup on Tuesday. A strong first quarter by the visiting team put Green River in a hole they could not climb out of as they fell, 64-53.
Monticello put up an impressive 21 points in the first quarter while keeping the Pirates to only eight. At the half, Green River trailed 37-18. Both teams saw a slow third quarter as they only shot single digits.
The Lady Pirates rallied for a comeback in the fourth, scoring an impressive 26 points. However, it was not enough to claim victory as Monticello earned the 11-point win.
Kira Engleman led the Pirates with 19 points, including three shots from behind the arc. Savannah Williams chipped in 12 to go along with eight steals on the night. Cassidee Moore finished with 11.
Green River will wrap up its season against Whitehorse on Friday.
