More Options Than Ever Coming to Castle Country for Crisis Intervention

A few years back, House Bill 41 (HB 41) was passed with the intent to unify crisis services into one phone line for the entire state of Utah.

Though it may not be largely known in the community, all of the local mental health authorities that provide safety net services are required to participate. This decision was not made by those at Four Corners Community Behavioral Health (FCCBH), but was rather a decision that was made as a state statute.

Following Aug. 31, clients and community members alike will be able to call 1 (800) 273-8255 for phone crisis intervention. However, community members are still welcome to phone local entities for assistance with certain needs, such as face-to-face crisis intervention Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community partners have been notified on how to reach after hours crisis workers through FCCBH for assistance if mobile response or face-to-face intervention is needed in a situation.

In the event that a community member phones the State Crisis Line and the worker believes that the individual needs face-to-face intervention, an arrangement will be made with local first responders.
