It didn’t matter that the Carbon Lady Dinos were playing without last season’s Region 12 MVP, or that they were playing the second game of a back-to-back. Neither did it matter that they were on the road against a Park City team that had only lost one game, which was against a 4A Orem team. Sara Morley took the team on her shoulders, pouring in 19 points and snagging 15 boards in the Lady Dinos’ 55-40 win over the Lady Miners.
Carbon played the game without Jordan Scoggins, who injured her knee in the team’s game on Thursday against Uintah.
Lindsey Blanc stepped up her game against Park City, contributing 15 points on 6-11 from the floor. Taylor Passarella chipped in seven points and Chandelle Nichols added six and four assists. The Dinos held the Miners to just 29% shooting in the game.
Carbon (8-1, 0-0 Region 12) has now won three straight since suffering its only defeat on Dec. 12 to Fruita, Colo. The Lady Dinos will travel to Castle Dale on Tuesday to take on the Emery Lady Spartans (3-4, 0-0 Region 15) at 7 p.m. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
