A trooper was dispatched to milepost 70 on I-70 Sunday at 6 p.m. for a motorcycle accident.
Carl Potter, 74, from Kanab, was reported dead on the scene by an EMT that was traveling through the area.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, witnesses reported that the driver died instantly from the crash despite wearing a helmet.
Potter was traveling westbound when the accident occurred. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
