Dallyn Mower scored three touchdowns in Carbon’s 47-14 win against American Leadership Academy Friday night in Spanish Fork.
To those that thought the Dinos season opening trouncing of Grand was a fluke, Carbon used a 33-7 run in the second half to run past the Eagles.
Garrett Blanc followed up a two-touchdown performance against Grand with another touchdown grab in the first quarter against ALA, and a 70 yard interception return for a TD in the third.
Mower scored on two three-yard runs in the first half and added another score late in the game on a 10-yard scamper.
Starting quarterback Jarod Lessar threw for a score and added another on the ground.
The Dinos fell behind early in the game 7-6 on a nine-yard run by ALA’s Hunter Smith. Carbon led 14-7 at the half.
The 47 points scored by Carbon was the largest offensive output since October 13, 2000 against Richfield, a game in which the Dinos exploded for 72 points en route to the 72-7 win.
Carbon will put its two-game winning streak on the line at Duchesne on Thursday. Duchesne saw its state record 48-game winning streak come to an end Friday at home against North Summit.
The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
