The annual Price City St. Patrick’s Day parade took place at noon on Saturday to welcome in spring.

Just before the parade began, members of the Price City Council and Parade Committee were busy making the difficult choice of selecting only a handful of floats to win an array of awards.

These awards were Mayor’s Choice, Best Use of Theme and Chairman’s Choice. Parade committee chairman Rick Davis awarded float number 21, Castle Country OHV Association, as the Chairman’s Choice while Terry Willis, Amy Knott-Jespersen and Layne Miller chose float number 29, Carbon County Royalty, as the Best Use of Theme while acting Mayor Pro Temp Boyd Marsing recognized the Desert Wave Pool and Carbon High Girls’ Championship Swim Team float as the Mayor’s Choice.

The parade was also given a new twist as parade-goers were given the opportunity to vote for Viewer’s Choice by texting a special number. The lucky winner was float number 41, Little Learner’s.

Those that won before the parade were able to proudly display their winning title on their float. All winners were also awarded with a festive green trophy and an advertising package with ETV News.
