Carbon High School running back Nate Olson was named to the Deseret News’ 3A First Team on Tuesday, leading five local athletes on the list.
Olson was the lone honoree from Carbon. Colton Willson, Easton Gordon, Drake Hoffman and Jared Snow were named from Emery.
Olson led the Dinos with 1,115 yards, the fourth most in 3A. His 123.9 yards per game average was tops in the classification as well. The senior rushed for 100 yards or more in seven of Carbon’s 10 games on the season and scored eight touchdowns. Olson also rushed for 1,026 yards a season ago.
Gordon and Willson were named the 3A Second Team. Hoffman and Snow both received honorable mention honors as well.
Gordon had three interceptions on the season, playing safety. Willson hauled in 52 catches for 647 yards. Hoffman played both ways on the offensive and defensive lines. Snow was named to the team as a cornerback.
