At approximately 2:04 Thursday afternoon, Price City Fire Department was dispatched to 1196 West 1500 North in Carbonville due to reports of a fire.

At the scene the fire, which had started in a cottonwood tree, had spread also to a shed, barn and stable on the location.

After containing the fire, officials retreated back to their vehicles due to heavy lightning that was striking around the premise. After the lightning had cleared, the officials continued to extinguish the blaze.

It is estimated that nearly $1,000 worth of property was lost in the blaze, according to the fire department.
