Pictured: Neldon Huff addresses those in attendance about his service in the Navy
At May’s meeting of the Carbon County Historical Society, Carbon County resident Neldon Huff addressed those in attendance about his service in the Navy and his being awarded several awards for his service, including the purple heart.
Donned in his original 1972 uniform, Huff spoke passionately about his naval career, which spanned from 1956 to 1974, nearly 20 years.
Throughout the presentation, Huff shared pictures of various ships that he lived and worked on as well as pictures of himself as he started his career, was promoted and, eventually, his retirement.
“After 20 years,” Huff testified at the end of his presentation, “I’d go back tomorrow.”
