In the most recent Manti-La Sal newsletter, it was announced that the Ferron/Price and Sanpete Ranger Districts will be offering campers an option to pay their overnight camping fees with a free and easy-to-use mobile app.
The app has a scan-and-pay option and to take advantage of it, visitors can download the app for Apple or Android devices. Users can then create an account and scan the QR code at the campground to complete the payment process. This is featured in lieu of other traditional forms of payments for camping fees.
Campers are encouraged to download the app before visiting a forest campground, as service tends to be limited and sometimes unavailable altogether. Once the installation is complete, it will be available for future use and will allow payment for camping fees even when the user is not in cell coverage. There is a small service fee that applies to payment through the app.
While utilizing the app, campers must select an unoccupied campsite to place their tent and/or equipment on the site to claim it. When completing order details, the user must verify that the chosen site was unoccupied upon arrival.
It was cautioned that those that pay for a campsite that is already occupied by another user, prompting the need for a refund, will need to work individually with the campground manager. The app does not manage site availability questions at individual campsites.
