New City Council Member for Orangeville City

Kari Alton was sworn in as the new Orangeville City Council Member at a special meeting on Wednesday, June 5. A public hearing was conducted where Alton answered questions regarding her desire to become a council member. She stated that she wanted to be more involved with the city and understand what is happening more.

She added that she understood there were grants available and some that have been awarded to the city and her desire was to take advantage of them. Alton was asked about handling conflicts among council members, to which she responded that they needed to be handled professionally and agreements reached. When asked what was her strongest attribute, she answered patience.

A motion to select Kari Alton as the new council member was seconded and Alton was sworn by city recorder Amanda Lake.
