A new exhibit is now open at the John Wesley Powell Museum in Green River. The exhibit is entitled “Contemporary Views of the Arid West: People, Places, and Spaces.”
In recognition of the 150th anniversary of John Wesley Powell’s first expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers, SCREE (Sesquicentennial Colorado River Exploring Expedition) is exploring contemporary views of the arid west.
The exhibit aims to capture the feel of what it might be like if Powell explored the rivers in today’s time. The collective works of numerous artists are being shown along the route of Powell’s journey.
