Lindsey Rux, the area’s newest nurse practitioner, is no stranger to small towns. Born and raised in Port Win, Wisconsin, a town that is home to only a few hundred, Rux graduated from high school with a graduating class total 11 students, one of which is now her husband.

Rux began her education in Duluth, Minnesota at the College of St. Scholastica as she worked to obtain her nursing degree, a four-year undertaking. She began work at Essentia Health in Duluth, working primarily in inpatient physical med and rehab for four years.

During this time, she applied for a Master’s program to continue her education, graduating in May with her Master’s of nursing degree.

As Rux sought a path to her new career, her radar lit on Price. She and her husband, Conrad, enjoyed the Midwest, especially mountainous areas. When Rux heard of an opening at Gagon Family Medicine, she and her husband made their way to Price, exploring the area and its potential.

Rux ended up accepting the position at Gagon Family Medicine and she, her husband and their two dogs packed up and relocated to Price.

While Conrad has already began work at Tram Electric, Lindsey is getting her feet wet at Gagon’s. She will begin accepting new patients on Sept. 12, both at the practice in Price and the one in Huntington.

Lindsey will see patients of all ages, but she has expressed a special interest in women’s health as well as care for chronic conditions. While the urgent care aspect of the practice will be new to her, she said that she is excited to expand her horizons and learn in the new environment.

Apart from work, Lindsey and her husband enjoy spending time in nature, hiking, riding ATVS, swimming and more, usually with their two dogs.
