The new public safety building is under construction in Green River. This building will house the fire and ambulance departments of the city.
“The city has been working towards and planning this project for 10 years now and it is finally in the works.” said Conae Black, city recorder.
The previous fire house was built in 1950 and no longer fit the needs of the city. It was explained that the new building is up to date and more efficient and functional.
The project, which will cost $2,520,000, is anticipated to be completed in August of 2019. The building is funded by 50% grants and 50% loans.
