A new website deemed www.whereshouldilive.org has the sole purpose of encouraging people to relocate to Castle Country. The website is headed by Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) and is now operational.

“For years Castle Country (Carbon and Emery Counties in Utah) has been considered one of the “undiscovered” natural wonders of the American West,” the website boasts. “There is a time to work and a time to play, and not a better place to play than Castle County. Outdoor fun is limited to you by your imagination.”

The website features whimsical videos portraying the benefits of living in Castle Country, such as shorter lines and wait times, affordable housing and life without traffic. Site visitors can also hear testimonials from people who have happily and willingly relocated to the area.

According to members of the BEAR organization, the idea behind the website is to boost the local economy by recruiting individuals and families of private means to relocate to the area. While BEAR strives to bring new business to the area, organization members understand that numbers of independent people also benefit the economy and community. These can be retired individuals or those who operate a business out of their home. The idea is that these people, who could live and/or work anywhere, would benefit from living in a small community.

The website also features links to popular resources, such as county government, school district websites and heath care in addition to recreational opportunities and area history.

Site operators are open to comments and suggestions for the website. Those with insight can email Terri McKendrick, BEAR Business Outreach Specialist, at terri@castlecountrybear.org
