Nicholas G. Hanson M.D. Elected to Utah Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors

The Utah Academy of Family Physicians has elected  Nicholas G. Hanson M.D., to serve a two-year term on their board of directors.

The Utah Academy of Family Physicians originated in 1948 under the title of Utah Academy of General Practice, and later changed its name in 1971 to the Utah Academy of Family Physicians. The Utah Academy of Family Physicians (UAFP) mission statement is to improve the health of patients, families and communities by serving the professional needs of UAFP members. One of their main principles is to preserve and promote quality, cost-effective health care, promote the science and art of family medicine and ensure an optimal workforce of well- trained family physicians.

Nicholas Hanson M.D. is a family medicine physician serving residents of the Castle Valley. Dr. Hanson joined the active medical staff at Castleview Hospital in January 2013, when he assumed the practice of Dr. Max Morgan, upon his retirement.

Dr. Hanson is the son of Gary and Laurie Hanson, and is married to the former Rebecca Bunderson. Both Dr. Hanson and his wife Becca, are natives of Carbon County. Dr. Hanson was sworn in at a reception in Salt Lake City on May 15.
