Norma Procarione has been a well-known and well-loved name at the Price City Library for the past 42 years. She will be entering into retirement soon and took some time to reflect on the position.

Procarione stated that her favorite part of the job is the wonderful people that she has worked with at the library over the years, especially the current staff, which she deemed “amazing.” She also expressed her enjoyment in working with children and helping patrons, who have taught her so much.

“It has been an honor to work with this community,” Procarione shared.

When she first began at the library, she started by shelving the books. She explained that this was her favorite part of the job and still loves organizing the books because of it. Procarione credits Emma Lou Stevenson and Marge Sower for being great people to work with and instilling the importance of service into her. She stated that they encouraged her to continue her education and she was successful in earning a masters degree in 1999.

Being director, she continued, was one of the hardest yet most fulfilling jobs she has ever had.

“Like most people, the decision to retire is met with mixed emotions but I am looking forward to the next adventure,” Procarione said.
