Down 10 at half, the Emery Lady Spartans gave North Sevier all it could handle before their comeback bid fell short in the fourth, losing 51-48. The loss drops Emery into a tie with North Sanpete at 5-1 atop the Region 15 standings.
Two days after torching Manti 85-46, in which they set a new state record for made threes in a game with 17, the Lady Spartans hit just five threes in the game.
Senior Jessica Olsen led Emery with 12 points. Freshman Kinlee Toomer was in double figures with 10. Senior Bayler Griffin chipped in seven points.
Emery (10-6, 5-1 Region 15, #3 in 2A) will host two games next week, Tuesday against Grand and Thursday versus Gunnison. Both games can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
