On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the Odyssey Dance Theatre brought “Thriller” to Carbon County. The group performed at the Geary Event Center and invited all to come and watch.
The company invited community members to be involved and had the USU Eastern dance team participate in a dance. The girls on the team had the chance to dress up as zombies, “scare” the audience before the show and dance with the original cast at the end of the show.
Odyssey also invited young performers from Encore Dance to be in the show. Eleven girls from the studio were able to do the annual “Chucky Dance.” They all got to dress as the iconic Chucky and dance a routine in front of the audience.
There were ten dances in both of the two acts. The dances all had themes, many from popular horror movies or spooky stories. They also had dances about some historical events, including the Salem witch trials. Some of the dances were also funny and there were videos on a screen for comical relief.
