On Sunday evening, just north of Cleveland near Lundy Lane and Highway 155, Emery County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) personnel responded to an accident. Following the initial response, it was requested by the ECSO that the case be turned over to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP).

The accident involved an OHV with two occupants. Both occupants were unrestrained, though the passenger was reported to have only received minor blunt force trauma to his head.

The driver, who also owned the OHV, was partially ejected from the vehicle before being pinned underneath. He was identified by UHP as 36-year-old Cleveland resident Brad Pruitt and succumbed to his injuries.

While the investigation is not fully complete at this time, a UHP trooper was able to confirm that they do not believe the accident to be impairment related, but rather speed related.
