Opening night for the Emery County Community Theater’s next production, “Once Upon A Mattress,” is scheduled for March 14.
Beginning that evening, members of the community are invited to five performances that will span four days. From March 14-17, the community theater will present the play at 7 p.m. nightly. A special matinee has also been scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Hosted at Emery High School, “Once Upon A Mattress” is a popular comedy that got its start off-Broadway in 1959. The play moved to Broadway shortly thereafter and has been popular in theater small and large throughout the years.
“Once Upon A Mattress” is an adaptation of the fairytale “The Princess and the Pea.” This spin on the familiar classic is full of laughs, shenanigans and musical performances.
Tickets for the production are $5 per person. Immediate family members of the cast can enjoy the production for only $25 per family.
