Update: Power was restored at approximately 11:19 a.m.

Ferron and Clawson residents have been without power since Sunday afternoon. According to Rocky Mountain Power spokeswoman Margaret Oler, the outage was caused by equipment problems at the Ferron substation.

Repairs are being made to the equipment and crews have been working on these repairs continuously since the outage occurred.

Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk advised residents affected by the outage to check on elderly neighbors to ensure their safety. Funk also explained that emergency personnel will be checking on nursing homes and that an emergency generator was set up at Main Street Market.

Rocky Mountain Power expects services  to be restored by this evening. However, crews are working to rush this estimated time.

Oler explained that approximately 970 customers are affected by this power outage.
