In September, Joshua Don Call and Rebecca Dawn Jimenez were booked into the Carbon County Jail for conducting forgery operations out of a local hotel room. The duo both appeared before Seventh District Court Judge George Harmond on Friday pertaining to dozens of charges.

Call was scheduled for arraignment on July 20 while Jimenez entered a plea in abeyance in the case. Out of 64 charges, Jimenez plead guilty to five charges, including producing or transferring any false identification document, unlawful acquisition/possess/transfer card, possession or use of a controlled substance, possession of forgery writing/device and obtain/assist obtaining multiple identifying documents of another. The rest of the charges, including mail theft, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and more, were dismissed.

The plea in abeyance will run for 36 months. As part of the agreement, Jimenez is ordered to not violate any laws, pay $1,000 in fines and complete substance abuse treatment, among others.

The charges stem from an incident in September at the Super 8 Motel in Price when Officer Jon Bowen responded to the motel at the request of motel management to conduct a welfare check. According to Price City Police, a search warrant was obtained to critically examine seized items. Among the hundreds of items seized, officers allegedly located 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, 1.4 grams of cocaine, numerous paraphernalia items, the electronic forgery items, a stolen handgun, substantial amounts of stolen mail (some local and some from out of the area), stolen and forged checks, stolen credit cards, dozens of quality forged Utah driver licenses all with Call’s photo and various names and numbers (some legitimate, some made up), and numerous stolen social security cards.

At the time of his arrest, Call had an extensive criminal history involving 25 previous arrests with convictions for drug possession and distribution offenses, domestic violence incidents, possession of stolen property, burglary, forgery, DUI, mail theft and other miscellaneous offenses. Jimenez had two previous arrests for possession of a controlled substance and robbery.
