Friday was a rough day for most of the Carbon and Emery Rodeo teams.
Carbon’s Morgan Jensen was 5th in the barrels and 8th in the poles. Emery’s Korby Christiansen qualified for state with 6th place in the reining cow horse competition and Riata Christiansen was 7th.
Saturday was a better day with several placing in the top ten.
Early in the morning Riata Christiansen was crowned queen of the weekend rodeos. In the timed events Carbon’s Morgan Jensen placed 7th in barrel racing. Emery’s team was strong in the roping events. Hayden Cloward and partner Whitt Crozier, Uintah Basin, won team roping with a 7 second score. Korby Christiansen and partner Sammy Taylor, Uintah Basin, were third followed by another Emery team, Will and Wyatt Magnuson 5th. In tie down roping Emery shined again, Bowdie Jacobsen placed 5th, Hayden Cloward 6th and Wyatt Magnuson captured 10th place.
This coming weekend takes both teams to Salina for competition again.
