Pinnacle hosted Merit College Preparatory Academy of Springville on Friday.

The Panthers suffered early strikes from the Knights and were down 13-2 after the first quarter. Pinnacle woke up offensively in the second quarter and scored 18 points, but gave up 19 in the process. This game really was a tale of two halves.

“We started off slow with few points and little effort in the first half. The second half however was completely different,” said head coach Eric Hansen. “The boys came out with fire in their bones with the will to play hard and do everything that they could to win. However, we came up short.”

The Panthers outscored the Knights 32-26 in the second half but ran out of time to complete the would-be epic comeback and fell 58-52.

Pinnacle next travels to Provo to play Freedom Prep Academy on Monday, Dec. 3 and then to Ogden to face St. Joseph on Wednesday, Dec. 5 before coming back home to go against Dugway on Friday, Dec. 7. Friday’s game will be streamed live online at www.etvnews.com/livesports.
