Pinnacle and Bryce Valley battled on Friday as the Mustangs gained the upper hand with one run in the first and two runs in the second.
The Panthers clawed their way back by scoring one run in both the second and third innings. After a scoreless fourth, the Mustangs regained their three-point lead with two runs in the fifth. Bryce Valley would not give up another run and won 6-2.
Six different hitters recorded a hit for Pinnacle while McGuire Kocks and Micheal Schmitz each batted in a run. Rylee Smith pitched six and two-thirds innings and struck out 11 batters. He have up six runs, four earned, on five hits and four walks.
Pinnacle is entering the final week of the regular season. The Panthers (4-13, 3-9) will play Tabiona (8-5, 3-1) on Monday and then host Valley (16-3, 9-3) on Wednesday and Panguitch (12-6, 8-4) on Friday.
