Pinnacle was involved in a close game on Monday night. The visiting Diamondbacks of Diamond Ranch Academy gave the Panthers all they wanted as additional time was needed to decide the contest.
It was close the entirety of the match. Pinnacle held a four-point lead, 13-9, after the first period. Slowly but surely, the Panthers added to their lead. Pinnacle was up by seven going into the final period and then came the Diamondbacks. They came storming back and outscored the Panthers 18-11 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
The Panthers were able to outlast the Diamondbacks in the additional frame and took the game 60-56. Jordan Thomas held the hot-hand for Pinnacle. He shot 70 percent from the field and recorded his first double-double with team-highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Benjamin Scott nearly had another double-double himself with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Pinnacle (2-4) will remain home when it takes on Dugway (1-4) on Friday.
