The Panthers opened their season at home on Friday against the RSL Academy Griffins. Pinnacle came screaming out of the gates and dominated the first half. The Panthers only allowed three points in each of the first two quarters while they put on an offensive clinic with 19 in the first quarter and 24 in the second. Pinnacle led 43-6 at the half.

The Panthers did not let up and outscored RSL Academy in the second half to take the opener 81-26. Senior Jordan Thomas led the way with 22 points, five rebounds and four steals. Benjamin Scott had four steals of his own to go along with nine points. Christian Winder and Mikey Vigil each ended the night in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Panthers shot 63 percent from the field and 56 percent from beyond the arc. As a team, they recorded 14 steals and were active on defense. They certainly hope to keep their momentum going as they have two more home games before Thanksgiving. The Panthers (1-0) will host Wendover (0-0) on Tuesday and Altamont (0-0) on Wednesday.
