The Pinnacle Panthers used a huge fourth quarter to fly by the Green River Pirates Tuesday night, taking the season series with a 64-40 win.
Three players scored in double figures for Pinnacle, led by Levi Rutherford with 13 points and two threes. Noah Mascarenas and Jon Giddings each chipped in 10. Skylar Graves nailed three threes en route to nine points.
After a tight first half that ended in a 24-19 Pinnacle lead, the Panthers outscored the Pirates 40-21 (22-7 in the fourth alone) in the second half.
Pirate sharpshooter Jovini Flores led all scorers in the game with 17 points, including two threes.
Pinnacle (11-5, 4-2 Region 19) will travel to Monument Valley (1-2, 1-2 Region 19) on Saturday. The two played on Jan. 23, a game the Panthers won 66-30. Green River (1-13, 0-4 Region 19) will play at Monument Valley on Friday.
