The Panthers participated in the Titan cross country meet in Orem along with seven other schools on Wednesday. John McLaws from Delta had the fastest time of the 5k at 17:26. Pinnacle’s Landen Hardy finished sixth (19:33) and freshman teammate Dalton Peirce ended in ninth (20:01).

Dominic Gutierrez and Raymond Bellamy finished within two seconds of each other for 16th (20:33) and 18th (20:35). Michael Schmitz rounded off the top five for Pinnacle in 29th place with a time of 21:04.

After all the scores were tallied, the Panthers took first place with a team score of 68. Delta came in second and Waterford School in third with 75 and 76 respective scores.

Abigail Hansen from Real Salt Lake Academy took first in the girls’ race with a time of 21:34. Kemery Stuckenschneider led the Lady Panthers with a time of 25:36, good enough for 22nd. Stephanie Sasser came in 26th (26:44) while Darolani Motte finished in 38th (32:51) and Ryver Camans in 40th (37:10). The Lady Panthers only had four runners, so they did not place in the team standings.

The Titan meet was a good end to the season meets. The Panthers will look to build on their performance as they prepare for the region meet at Huntington Lake on Oct. 16.
