Panthers Win Play-In, Then Eliminated

In the final regular season game of the year, the Panthers were on the road to Valley. Pinnacle was shut out and fell 10-0 to the Buffalos. The Panthers only managed two hits in the contest.

Pinnacle then had to compete in a play-in game for the 1A state tournament. The Panthers played Intermountain Christian in the must-win game. Pinnacle scored two runs in the first inning and that proved to be enough. The Panthers blanked the Lions 5-0 for the victory.

Isaac Arellano went 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Christain McLean pitched a six-hit shutout to keep the Panthers’ season alive.

Pinnacle then faced off against Piute in the first round of state. The Panthers grabbed a run in the top of the first but immediately gave up a couple of runs in the bottom half. The Panther then gave up 14 more runs and lost 16-2 to get eliminated from the playoff.

Pinnacle finished the year 6-17 and 1-13 in the South Region.
