Parowan Bests Emery in Overtime

The Parowan Rams narrowly edged out the Lady Spartans in a non-region soccer match on Friday afternoon. The home win for the Rams came after an overtime period where they notched a lone goal to secure the win.

The game saw the teams evenly matched in the first half as the Spartans and Rams both connected twice with the net, going into the break tied 2-2. The second half was much of the same as both teams scored one more, bringing the score to 3-3 at the end of regulation.

The Rams had the advantage in overtime, grabbing one more goal to secure the 4-3 win.

The Lady Spartans had eight shots on goal, three of which connected. Junior Sydney Stilson along with seniors Tern Allred and Sophie Huntington each recorded a goal for Emery. Kiri Cook protected the net for the Spartans, saving 17 shots.

Up next, Emery will host Granger in Castle Dale on Thursday. Kickoff for the non-region matchup is slated for 3:30 p.m.
