Bronco Utah Operations LLC, with a mailing address of PO Box 527, Emery, Utah 84522, has filed with the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining an application for Phase II and III Bond Release for 6.70 acres of the Hidden Valley Mine.

Final reclamation of the Hidden Valley Mine was completed within the disturbed portions of the permitted area in 1986.  Phase I Bond Release for all disturbed areas was approved by the Division of Oil Gas and Mining on July 17, 1988.

The Hidden Valley Mine is located east of SR 10. The said area, located within the W1/2 of Section 17, Township 23 South, Range 6 East, SLB&M.  The site was originally developed in 1980 to mine coal as a fuel source for cement kilns by Soldier Creek Coal Company.

Reclamation of the site began and was completed in 1986.  A Reclamation Permit was issued by the state on January 27, 1987.  Phase I Bond Release was approved in 1988.  The site has now shown that this reclamation area has achieved revegetation success standards for the approved post mining land use.  The period of responsibility requirement has also been achieved.

Bronco Utah Operations LLC currently maintains a $148,000.00 surety bond payable to the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining and the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM).  Bronco Utah Operations LLC is requesting release of this entire amount.

A copy of the Phase II and III Bond Release application may be examined at the office of the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining, 1594 West North Temple, Suite 1210, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5801, or on-line at the Division’s website.  Written comments, objections, or requests for an informal conference may be submitted to the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining address above. Said comments must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of the last publication of this notice.

This notice is being published to comply with the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977, and State and Federal regulations promulgated pursuant to said Act.
