The Wasatch Tigers won the matchup against host Pinnacle Academy Lady Panthers 48-40 on Saturday evening.
Coach Robert Harmon felt if his team could just box out a little more on defense the score would have been much different.
The Panthers held the Tigers to a tie in the first quarter but trailed by five at the half. It was a physical game but Harmon felt it was not as tough as some have been. Raycee Birch led the team with 17 points. Misty Bingham came off the bench and helped with the defensive effort. Tiana Burton also was a factor with seven points.
Coach Harmon said that his team is good at crashing the boards on the offensive side, but they need some work in the fundamentals of boxing out on the defensive side. He is optimistic about the progress his team is making, but still says that the effort is slowed by the need to work on fundamentals like rotations and boxing out.
The Lady Panthers will travel to Dugway on Tuesday.
