Pinnacle golf recently played in the region tournament in preparation for the state tournament.

Riley Wilson continued his strong season and shot a 90 for the round, good enough for second on the day. Britton Brewer (Monticello) had the best score on the boys’ side, completing his round in 87 strokes.

Jacee Atwood led the Lady Panthers with a 136 round but Monticello took first in both boys’ and girls’ divisions.

“Going into the state tournament, Riley Wilson is leading Region 19. With an average of 88 strokes [per round] for the season, he is leading the region by 10 strokes,” said head coach Eric Hansen. “We have high hopes for Riley going into state. He took 10th place overall [last year] as a junior and this year we are looking forward to see him in the top three. His work ethic and love for the game have paid off and we are very excited to watch him succeed at state.”

Wilson will look to make some noise in the state tournament that goes from May 14-15 at Cove View Golf Course in Richfield. The pairings for Round 1 have not yet been released.
