On Thursday, 40 seniors and six early graduates graduated from Pinnacle High School. The graduation took place at the Price Civic Auditorium and there was quite the turn out of attendees comprised of parents, staff and board members, teachers, fellow students and even the Carbon High drum line.
The six students who graduated early were Tyler Blunt, James Edwards, Damein Freeman, Jared Gren, Page Heisterman and Patience Swearingen.
The graduation ceremony began with the Carbon High drum line marching in and playing a few of their cadences as well as introducing the color guard. The colors were presented by the VFW Post #2379 and, from there, Chanal Richardson performed the National Anthem.
There were three speeches given, including bits from Heidi Kay, Shylinn Lofley, the salutatorian of her class, and Jesson welch, valedictorian of his class.
There were two videos shown during the ceremony, both provided by Eric Cloward. Both of the videos showcased the memories of the class of 2017, one showing childhood memories and the other showing school memories.
After the speeches were given and memories were shared, diplomas were awarded to the graduating class of 2017 by Melissa Jepson and Kay.
