Pinnacle High’s Commencement Celebration

A flash mob by the senior class was the perfect wrap-up for the accomplishments of  48 members of the Pinnacle High School graduating class.  From beginning to end, the night was filled with all the pom and circumstance associated with commencement  exercises.

The Carbon Drum Line  opened the celebration along with the VFW Post 2378 who presented the colors. The National Anthem was sung by Julian Fowler. Chief Administrative Officer, Roberta Hardy handed out many special awards. For Hardy, this year’s celebration was even more significant as she watched her youngest son graduate as the Valedictorian of the class.  Kade Scott was the Salutatorian with Senior Sabrina Bloomer delivering the welcoming remarks.

Del Funk gave an emotional speech to the graduating class about overcoming adversity and remembering life may not  be easy, but how they handle things is all in their hands. He followed his remarks with a pair of music videos to bring his point home.

The graduation address was given by Mark Stuckenschneider and the graduates were then presented with their diplomas. A majority of the class had already committed to colleges or other post high school training opportunities.  Most had at least one scholarship  to help with expenses.

As the final graduate crosses the stage, the faculty cleared the chairs and moved aside. Quickly after tossing their mortar boards in the air, the entire class filled the stage and entertained the crowd with song and dance ending in a rendition of “Gangnam Style”.
