Pinnacle Nipped by Dugway on the Road, Girls Lose Tough Contest at Home

Levi Rutherford poured in 17 points, including four three pointers against Dugway Friday night in Pinnacle’s 47-45 loss on the road. The Panther girls hosted Wendover in Price and were upended 56-30.

The Pinnacle boys exploded in the first quarter, leading by six points at the end of one. Dugway responded, though, in the second and took at two-point lead into the break. Another big quarter by the Panthers in the third propelled them into the lead once again before squandering it in the fourth to lose by a bucket.

Val Acosta scored eight points for Pinnacle, knocking down two threes in the game. The Panthers had eight threes in the game. Eight total Panthers notched at lead two points in the game.

The Pinnacle boys (3-2, 0-0 Region 19) will continue its road trip at American Leadership Academy on Wednesday. The girls (0-4, 0-0 Region 19) will host Rockwell on Tuesday. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 6 at 6 p.m.
